THRIVE | Charleston Community Manager Jordan Delagrange

The heart and soul of THRIVE are our Community Managers — ringleaders and ringmasters rolled into one. They are here to rock your world, simplify your life, restore your faith in humanity, and basically make your THRIVE experience a bowl of cherries. Minus the pits. Take a moment to meet Jordan, and find out about her brush with Olympic greats.

What’s your hometown?

I’m originally from Akron, OH.

Dogs or cats?

I love dogs, especially my li’l girl Margot. Although she behaves more like a cat than a dog.

Who’s a good girl? Margot is!

Cake or pie or cookies?

I prefer cookies, specifically Girl Scouts Thin Mints and Tagalongs.

Sunrise or Sunset?

I love a good sunset, especially overlooking the water in Charleston.

What’s your musical jam?

Right now, I’m loving Chappell Roan.

What song do you want everyone to know?

Everyone should listen to Chappell Roan’s entire album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess — not a single skip. So good!

Whom do people say you look like?

People say I look like lots of TikTokers, but mostly I look like my dad!

What’s your favorite comedy film?

I don’t watch a ton of comedy, but I’ll watch anything with Kristen Bell or Melissa McCarthy in it.

Do you have a nickname (and how’d you get it)?

My family nickname is Jojo. My younger sister couldn’t pronounce “Jordan” so she shortened it and it stuck.

Have you ever gotten someone’s autograph or a celebrity selfie?

I’ve always loved gymnastics and I got a chance to meet Tatiana Gutsu, the 1992 Olympic all-around champion, and I got her autograph. I also ran into Gabby Douglas, the 2012 Olympic all-around champion, at my hotel when we were watching a competition and was able to get a picture with her.

Jordan, left, and her sister Teigan with Olympic gymnastics legend Gabby Douglas. Jordan was a gymnast from age 5 to 18.

Most prized possession?

My most prized possession is easily my baby Marge. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. A little ray of sunshine tip tapping around on her Grinch paws.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is anything true-crime related. Podcasts, documentaries, YouTube videos — I love it all.

Where’s your happy place?

My happy place is back home on the farm in Medina with my family : )

What absolutely excites you right now?

I’m very excited for the Olympics right around the corner. Gymnastics is my favorite sport!

What skill do you think it takes to be a great CM?

I think you have to love working with people to be a great CM.

What’s the least obvious skill do you think it takes to be a great CM?

A not-so-obvious skill it takes to be a great CM is knowing everyone’s favorite LaCroix flavors and keeping them on a steady rotation.

You wouldn’t know it to look at me, but …

You wouldn’t know it to look at me, but I was recently on an episode of MTV’s Help! I’m in a Secret Relationship, which they filmed here at THRIVE in Charleston.

I am not afraid to …

I am not afraid to try new foods — I am not very picky and love exploring new things!

What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you when you were younger?

I would tell my younger self to stop bleaching my hair so much!
